Welcome to BadCatRecords. Over the years I've collected all kinds of stuff, but the listings are heavily geared towards country-rock,
folk, pop, progressive, psych, rock and soul offerings. Most of these albums never came close to top-40 charts and was bought
because I wanted to hear it, rather than to make a profit. I've kept the website design simple, slowly uploading a mix of rare, obscure
and personal favorites from a collection of 35,000+ LPs. That's obviously way too much vinyl for anyone so I've begun to cull the
collection down (which will make my wife and kids happy) and reduces the chances that my neighborhood would ever go up in a
massive vinyl-fed fire.
The way I've set the catalog up includes a photo of the LP cover, grading information, and asking price.

| LP cover | Artist | LP Title | Label | catalog # | Year | Grading (cover/LP) |
Price |
![]() |
Shat | Shat | Van Dyke | AW 14042 | 1977 | VG+ / VG+; strong edges and seams | $50.00 |
In most cases you can click on the artist name to find a brief review of the album, along with track listings and biographical information.
Even if you don't buy anything, check out my record reviews - there are now close to 3,000 on the website and who knows what might
strike your fancy. I try to be objective which means some of the items I'm selling don't get glowing reviews since I simply didn't like all
that much. Regardless, they're only opinions so take them with a grain of salt. My loss could be your gain. Here's a sample of what
you'll see:

Unlike a lot of other dealers I don't gouge buyers on postage costs. I charge you the actual mailing costs and a dollar to cover the cost
of the specialized LP and 45 mailers and cardboard inserts I use to pack LPs and 45s.
Since April 2004 the BadCat Records website has had over 500,000 visits. That's not putting me in direction competition with
Amazon.com, but isn't half bad for a small , after-hours hobby. I've sold roughly 5,000 LPs and 45s during that timeframe and as of
April 2008 had 5 complaints about grading, or some other facet of a transaction. Not perfect customer satisfaction, but not half bad.
I've been fascinated by the flexibility the web provides. Probably 60% of my sales are domestic, but that leaves a gigantic number of
overseas customers, including sales to people in: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Czech Republic, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa,
South Korea, Spain, Sweden, UK.
If you're not happy with a transaction, then contact me and we'll figure out some sort of agreeable solution.
